RF Amplifier Selection Guide
Start with the required signal and installation conditions, then compare qualified specifications across the complete operating band.
01 / ENGINEERING REVIEW
Build a requirement before choosing a model
- Frequency: record the lowest and highest frequencies, including units. In All Products, enter both limits to find amplifiers that cover the entire requested band.
- Output: specify watts or dBm, the rating definition (P1dB or Psat), and minimum versus typical performance. A headline power value alone is not enough.
- Signal: identify CW, pulse or the intended modulation. For pulses, include width, repetition rate, duty cycle and peak output.
- Drive and integration: record available input power, required gain, supply, cooling, connectors, dimensions and control needs.

Compare the exact documents
Open each candidate’s datasheet and check the revision, frequency-dependent limits and test conditions. Keep minimum, typical and maximum columns separate. Ask for clarification when a catalog value has no rating definition or the matching document is unavailable.

Prepare an actionable quote request
Include the model, requested band, qualified output target, signal details, quantity and timing. Explain installation constraints and any evidence you need before approval. A related-product suggestion is a starting point for review, not a confirmed substitute.
